Cordial Cocktail Club, formerly known as The Bottle Shop, is set to open its doors, ushering in a refreshed identity and an elevated neighborhood cocktail experience in Columbus.

The rebrand follows several years of evolution for the concept, which first launched in 2017 as a wine and beer carryout with a small cocktail offering. It is set to be located at 237 King Ave, Columbus, OH 43201.

WhatNow Columbus spoke to the owner Gregory Stokes, who shared that he purchased the business three years ago and has since seen the cocktail program become the core focus of the space.

The businessman said the following:

“The identity has changed so much,” he said. “We still sell wine and beer retail, but the cocktail bar has become much more important, and the space really functions now as a neighborhood gathering spot.”

He expressed that the transition to Cordial Cocktail Club reflects a shift, with a renewed focus on crafted cocktails served quickly and at an accessible price point.

“The Cordial Cocktail program is a continuation of the hard work we’ve been doing. Meticulously constructed cocktails at an affordable price for everyone and served in a fast environment.”

Guests can expect cocktails priced between $10 and $13, designed to be served within minutes while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship. Opening day will also introduce a brand-new cocktail menu inspired by Indian flavours, developed by bar manager Ari, who has been exploring his heritage through the concept.

“We’ll be unveiling that cocktail menu, we’ll have a vinyl DJ playing, and we’ll also have a food truck,” Stokes added.

Alongside the new cocktail programme, Cordial will also feature updates to its wine list, but the owner emphasized that much of the concept remains rooted in its original identity as a community-driven space.

“The only thing that is really changing is the name,” he said. “Our staff remains the same, our hospitality remains the same.”

Design upgrades include refreshed interiors featuring curated artwork, brass chandeliers, plush velvet wallpaper, and enhanced seating aimed at elevating the guest experience. The concept continues to serve a diverse customer base ranging from Ohio State University students and local residents to late-night hospitality workers.

“We really are just trying to be a place that the community can embrace,” Stokes shared.

Looking ahead, the owner hinted that future plans may be in development, though details remain under wraps.
