Houston Inn is preparing to make a comeback in Lebanon, according to the Cincinnati Business Courier. The concept is reportedly under the leadership of Bronson Trebbi, the owner behind Walt’s Hitching Post and CEO of Cincinnati-based RDI Corp.

The historic restaurant, which first opened in 1954 and closed during the Covid-19 pandemic, is undergoing a major renovation aimed at restoring the longtime local favorite while introducing an elevated new dining experience.

Known for its casual atmosphere and menu staples such as fried frog legs, steaks, fried chicken and a large salad bar, the eatery has remained a recognizable part of the community for decades and is set to be located at 4026 US-42, Lebanon, OH 45036.

According to Trebbi, who told the publication mentioned above that the project will include updates to the dining room and interior spaces, exterior and parking lot improvements, new commercial kitchen equipment, restored architectural details, murals and custom finishes designed to preserve the restaurant’s original character.

Trebbi expressed that the overall goal of the renovation is to preserve the original character of the restaurant, adding that the aim is to restore Houston Inn to its former prestige as a longtime community gathering place where locals have built lasting memories.

Trebbi also added that the restaurant’s longstanding history and community recognition made it an appealing restoration project.

The refreshed concept is expected to feature steakhouse-inspired offerings, including filet mignon, seafood dishes and elevated sides such as truffle mac and cheese and steakhouse potatoes. A curated cocktail program and expanded wine list are also planned as part of the experience.

In addition to Houston Inn, Trebbi has restored and revitalized several notable regional businesses, including Walt’s Hitching Post, Oakley’s 20th Century Theater, and King Arthur’s Toys.

Houston Inn is expected to reopen later this summer, though an official opening date has not yet been announced.
