Mikey’s Late Night Slice is bringing its New York-style pizza and late-night concept to Cleveland, with a new location planned for 1898 W. 25th St. in Ohio City.
The Columbus-based pizza chain is preparing to take over a historic three-story building in the neighborhood, marking its first Cleveland-area location. The company announced the expansion in September and is targeting an opening in 2027, although an exact date has not yet been determined.
The new location will involve a significant renovation of the existing building. According to Mikey’s, the project requires an extensive rehabilitation, which is one reason the opening timeline has not yet been finalized.
The approximately 1,700-square-foot first floor will be designed around the long, narrow layout associated with Mikey’s original High and Vine location in Columbus. The second floor will provide additional seating and party space, while the third floor will not be used as part of the restaurant.
Mikey’s is known for its oversized pizzas, offering 18-inch pies and slices, along with late-night hours and a menu built around its playful take on pizza. The company describes its concept as combining New York-style pizza with a late-night atmosphere.
Founder Mikey Sorboro said the company had spent more than two years looking for the right Cleveland location before settling on the Ohio City property. The company has described Cleveland as a longtime goal and plans to use the Ohio City location as the starting point for additional expansion in the area.
Beyond Ohio City, Mikey’s has said it is also exploring potential locations in downtown Cleveland, Lakewood, and other areas. The company currently lists its Cleveland location as “Coming Soon” at 1898 W. 25th St.
Mikey’s Late Night Slice began in Columbus in 2009 and has since expanded to multiple locations throughout Ohio, including Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati.
An exact opening date for the Cleveland location has not been announced, though the company is hoping for a mid-2027 opening.
