What started as an online book club will soon be a destination for coffee with a book.
It is being reported a new wine bar and bookstore concept called The Novel Sip is coming to New Albany. This will be an all-day business with many different kinds of novels and drinks to choose from. Owner Shayla Cole has not yet released an address, but it is set to open in spring 2027.
“A neighborhood space for books, coffee, wine and community,” says the description on their website.
Along with being the founder of this new business, Cole is also a team member at Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams based in the city. Recently, Cole attended the Columbus Book Festival where she showcased her business and exchanged book recommendations with attendees. She has not yet released a list of books that will be sold.
For the menu, Cole will work with local coffee roasters as well as bakers. Those visiting can expect lattes, as well as glasses of wine available.
“Whether you’re stepping in for a few minutes or staying for a few hours, The Novel Sip is designed to be a place you’ll want to return to again and again,” says a recent post from the business.
Cole has not yet responded to What Now Columbus’ request for comment about her new business. She will be providing more updates on the opening progress on her Instagram and Facebook pages.
