Uptown Deli and Brew is planning an expansion that would bring a rooftop patio to Westerville, a first of its kind for Uptown. The Uptown Review Board unanimously approved plans for the business to expand into the former Edward Jones offices at 37-39 N. State St., according to The Westerville News.
Plans call for a wood bar, metal cabana, string lights, planters and glass railings around the perimeter. Guests will access the rooftop through a new interior staircase as well as a black metal exterior staircase at the rear of the building.
Tony Cabilovski is the owner of Uptown Deli and Brew. He and his wife Amy have built a significant business presence in the city’s Uptown district. Amy owns several nearby retail businesses, including Stone & Sparrow, Edwin Loy Home, and Little Sparrow. Tony also owns Westerville Grill several blocks south and the West Main Street building known as Corbin’s Saloon.
Opened in December 2014, Uptown Deli and Brew operates as a deli, market, and brewery. The business serves sandwiches, soups, and salads, with artisan meats, cheeses, and breads, its menu shows. It is also home to Temperance Row Brewing Company, located toward the rear of the deli.
