Micro Center is preparing to unveil a newly renovated version of its flagship Columbus store with a grand reopening celebration scheduled for August 22 according to the Columbus Underground.

Located at 747 Bethel Road, the consumer electronics retailer has spent the past several months remodeling its longtime flagship location, introducing what the company describes as a fully modernized shopping experience. The store has remained open throughout construction.

According to Micro Center, the renovation includes refreshed store aisles, an updated checkout area, an enhanced Knowledge Bar, and several new shopping features designed to improve the customer experience.

Additional upgrades include the following: An expanded Build Your Own (BYO) PC department, dedicated hardware for AI development, a larger 3D printer section; enhanced in-store experiences; increased product inventory on display

The grand reopening festivities will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:45 a.m. on August 22. Customers can also expect swag bags, gift card giveaways, raffles, live-streaming events, and special promotions throughout the day.

Founded in Columbus in 1979 and headquartered in Hilliard, Micro Center has grown into one of the nation’s largest specialty retailers of consumer electronics, computer hardware, and technology accessories, operating 30 stores across the United States.
