A cafe with a mission is looking to the future. Cafe Momentum has big plans to shape the live of DFW young folks with a new East Dallas location set to open early next year, reports Culture Map Dallas.
The new 3001 Greenwood Street building will serve dual functions; the two story 11,000-square-foot facility will house both Cafe Momentum’s training and non-profit operations and a restaurant which will be open to the public.
The .8 acre plot for Cafe Momentum’s new home comes courtesy of a partnership with the Meadows Foundation.
Cafe Momentum will have a patio for visitors hoping to enjoy an al fresco dinner. The menu will focus on the seasonal offerings that have made the concept such a culinary success, as well as a pivotal part of the non-profit community.
Cafe Momentum opened its doors for the first time in January of 2015. More than just a restaurant, the concept is a full movement and each brick-and-mortar location propels it forward. The website explains: “In addition to our restaurant and programming, we’re working to inspire change in the juvenile justice system itself — moving away from an apparatus that has historically targeted and incarcerated youth of color, and moving it toward a focus on young people’s potential. Part of achieving our goal is to establish 8 brick and mortar locations across America by 2030, with 10 by 2035.”
Dallas diners will be able to stop in for a meal and further support Cafe Momentum’s mission in January of 2027.
