Juanis Restaurant, a beloved Dallas-area Mexican restaurant known for its flexible, made-to-order menu and homestyle cooking with fresh food is preparing to open a standalone location on one of the city’s most prominent corridors.

According to public filings, Juani’s Restaurant plans to open at 10830 Harry Hines Blvd. within the Grand Bazaar development, with an opening date targeted for late 2026. What Now Dallas spoke to owner Juana Aguirre said the location on Harry Hines was a deliberate choice due the main street, and the visibility that comes with it.

The new location marks a significant milestone for Aguirre, who built Juanis from a small taqueria inside a gas station over the past decade. “Going from a small taqueria in a gas station to getting there is a blessing,” she told What Now Dallas. The Harry Hines space will operate fully independently, under no outside administration.

The new location sits less than half a mile from Aguirre’s previous spot at 10817 Denton Dr., which she has since closed, bringing Juani’s full operation to the Harry Hines corridor.

Aguirre credits the restaurant’s loyal following across the Dallas Metroplex — from Denton to Grand Prairie to Fort Worth — to a simple but powerful philosophy: serve the customer what they need, when they need it. At Juanis, there are no breakfast cutoffs. “If at 3 in the afternoon someone asks for huevos rancheros, at 3 in the afternoon I serve them,” she said. The same goes for chilaquiles, or whatever the customer craves. Handmade tortillas, fresh ingredients, and a no-rules approach to hospitality have turned first-time diners into regulars for more than a decade.

Aguirre said the restaurant’s growth has been entirely organic, built on good service, good food, and word of mouth. She also prides herself on a welcoming environment with no rigid policies. “You have to attend to the customer and what they need,” she told What Now Dallas.

Looking ahead, Aguirre said expansion remains on her mind. “If I can climb another step, I will,” she said. “To all my clients of these 10 years and for the community of Harry Hines — I’ll be waiting for you at the new Juani’s Restaurant location.”
