According to public filings, Taco Bell plans to open a new location at 4115 E. U.S. Highway 377 in Granbury. Permitting records list a construction completion date of December 2026. However, dates listed in public filings are not always definitive.
Taco Bell is a fast-food chain specializing in Mexican-inspired items, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. The brand, founded in 1962 by Glen Bell in Downey, California, has grown to more than 8,200 locations worldwide and operates as part of Yum! Brands.
The Granbury project is tied to Rakesh Kumar, president and CEO of Kumar Management Corp. Kumar Management, based in Foster City, California, operates Taco Bell restaurants as a franchisee, including a location in nearby Weatherford. What Now Dallas reached out to Kumar to inquire about the opening timeline, but did not receive a response prior to publication.
The Granbury project would extend the company’s Taco Bell footprint further into North Texas.
Taco Bell has continued expanding across Texas through several franchise groups, a pattern What Now has tracked in North and Central Texas. What Now Austin has reported on new locations planned for Hutto, Cedar Park, and Dripping Springs, all operated by Tacala, a Taco Bell franchisee with more than 350 locations across the Southeast and Texas.
