The northern suburb is gaining an other food and drink option.
An application recently went through Rochester Hills for a new restaurant called Perk’s Pub coming to 3204 Walton Boulevard. The concept comes from Leonard Perkaj, a local restaurateur in the city. Perkaj told What Now Detroit he is waiting on the liquor license, and the opening date is looking like mid-October.
Perkaj is also the owner of Half Day Cafe in the plaza, and is opening the new concept with his brother, Alfred. The two have been planning the restaurant for the last year and nine months. He says it will be an “old school, traditional bar.”
Food options at Perks’ will include sandwiches, fish and chips and burgers. Perkaj wants to offer reasonable prices for those stopping in. Of course, beers and mixed drinks will be served at the bar.
The pub is opening at the University Square shopping plaza, sharing the building with Kerby’s Koney Island and a Jersey Mike’s Subs. Cold Stone Creamery and Half Day Cafe are also at the plaza, connected to a Trader Joe’s. This is across the road from Oakland University.
From the application, hours of operation will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Outdoor seating is also being installed at the space.
Perk’s Pub does not yet have a website or social media pages.
