Four friends have a plan to bring more sandwiches to Beer City USA.
Kalamazoo-based Nonla Burger is growing in Grand Rapids, as a new location is coming to 2090 Celebration Drive NE. This is their second spot in the city, again serving juicy burgers and chicken sandwiches. An opening date is yet to be announced, but construction is nearing completion.
“Serving all the same good food, to even more friends in the Grand Rapids area, we are SO excited to add our final touches and open up the doors soon,” says a recent post from Nola Burger on Facebook.
The concept was founded by friends Johnny and Kelly Nguyen, and Kyle and Natashia Monk. First, they debuted in Kalamazoo at 2103 S Burdick Street. From there, the team expanded to another Kalamazoo location on Drake Road and then to Bridge Street and Grand Rapids.
The burgers are obviously the main draw, but locations also offer handhelds like chicken sandwiches. The N.B. Salad with cilantro, onion, cucumber and radish is their more healthy option. Drinks include pop and a shake of the day.
The burger spot is moving into the building with a Melting Pot and The Pump House Frozen Yogurt Bar. Thai is on the northwest side of the intersection, across the street from a Meijer. Downtown Grand Rapids is a 15-minute drive from the storefront.
What Now Detroit has reached out to the owners of Nonla Burger and is awaiting comment.
