The multi-price-point chain has acquired a new storefront in the suburb.
From Keystone Commercial Real Estate’s recent post, Dollar Tree has leased the former Rite Aid at 22346 Woodward Avenue in Ferndale. The Rite Aid reportedly closed in 2024, following the chain’s announcement of leaving the state. Representatives from Dollar Tree told What Now Detroit the estimated opening date is around late July.
The company operates over 300 locations around the Great Lakes State. Dollar Tree also has an additional Ferndale store at 8918 W 8 Mile Road. Many of the other stores in Southeast Michigan are in Detroit city limits, or surrounding suburbs such as Highland Park and Hamtramck.
At any Dollar Tree around the country, shoppers can find items from many departments including kitchen and dining, arts and crafts, food and drinks, office supplies and cleaning equipment. The stores also sell holiday party supplies, and Fourth of July items are now being rolled out.
The discount store is coming to the east side of Woodward Avenue at Academy Street. Aesthetic hair salon, Ferndale Nail Bar and The Honey Baked Ham Company are also at this building. The address is just south of downtown Ferndale.
As the space is currently under construction, a more firm opening date will be announced closer to the store’s completion.
