Clutch Sports Bar broke some hearts when it permanently closed its doors at its Washington Avenue location last year. But the brand is now rekindling the flame of its adored fans with not one but two possible openings. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, Clutch Sports Bar is expected to open in the Point Nasa Shopping Center at 1020 W Nasa Parkway, Suite 132.

The permit further details that construction is slated to start next month and wrap up at the end of August. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $400,000 construction project, the new Clutch Sports Bar should open before the end of summer.

After ten years of service, the lease expired on the venue that the Clutch Sports Bar had once called home. What Now Houston reached out to owner Dan Wierck, who provided more details.

“The lease was fulfilled after 10 years of being open, a successful run at any location, and we declined an extension due to the insanely high rent ask by the landlord,” Wierck said.

But the brand was far from over. Wierck is the sole owner of Sundown Entertainment, which later announced plans to revive the Clutch Bar concept at two new Houston-area locations.

A new website for the brand, with very little detail other than two addresses, listed a second home for Clutch Sports Bar set to open soon. The second Clutch Sports Bar will live in the East Downtown area at 1201 St Emanuel Street. No word just yet on the timeline for this opening, but we’re sure more will be revealed as the summer winds down.

According to the OJ website, the bar offers fooddrinks (of course), bottle service, and hookah.

Clutch Sports Bar is anticipated to open in Point Nasa Shopping Center at 1020 W Nasa Parkway, Suite 132, this summer, and in the East Downtown area at 1201 St Emanuel Street sometime this year.
