Mont Belvieu is about to get a flavorful new addition with the arrival of Teriyaki Madness, a popular fast-casual Japanese restaurant known for its bold teriyaki dishes, set to open at 9217 Eagle Dr. Co-Franchisees Anthony Huston, his wife Karen, and their daughters Deanna and Damiah are behind this new venture.
For Anthony, the decision to venture into the restaurant industry was sparked by a friend’s recommendation nearly two years ago. And then they came upon Teriyaki Madness. “We did a little bit of research on a couple of restaurants,” he said. “To be honest, I like their brand and food, and how their system is run.” With no previous experience in restaurants, Anthony felt reassured by the franchise’s commitment to training and support, sharing that the corporate office will teach you to become successful in their brand.
Though originally planning to open their franchises in New York City, the Hustons shifted their focus to Houston to take advantage of favorable rent prices and a rapidly growing market. “This area is up and coming with a lot of new establishments and businesses popping up around,” Anthony noted. With their daughters already in Houston for part-time nursing jobs, the move felt natural for a family venture. About five months ago, Anthony and Karen relocated to Houston to focus on launching the new franchise, while Anthony’s sons continue to oversee the family’s other businesses in New York.
With the Mont Belvieu location set to open by late February or early March 2025, the Hustons are also searching for a second location, potentially outside Houston or even out of state, as part of their three-store deal with Teriyaki Madness.
