According to recent public records, a new independent ice cream establishment is coming to Hawthorne. Scoop, run by Morgan Harrod, will be found at 6940 SE 221 St.
“We’ll serve the classics: chocolate and vanilla,” Harrod tells What Now Jax. “And we’ll also have specialty flavors like caramel cookie crunch and cookies and cream. We’ll also be serving sundaes, banana splits, soft serve, acai bowls.”
When asked why she decided on this particular location, Harrod (a true local business owner, after all) simply points out to her proximity.
“It’s near to me!”
Harrod adds that the space will be approximately a cozy 487 square feet.
While no opening date has been announced, Harrod is hoping it will be soon.
“I believe it’ll be open in late April,” she says.
