A new restaurant is planning to fire up the smoker in Northpoint Park. It’s called Southern Smokehouse, and according to plan review paperwork submitted by South Atlantic Hospitality Corp, it’s in the works at 12741 Yellow Bluff Road in Jacksonville.
What Now came across the plan review paperwork this week, which was noted in a short piece of coverage published by the Jacksonville Daily Record at the end of March, detailing a building permit issued on March 26.
“Southern Smokehouse, 12741 Yellow Bluff Road, contractor is International Management Co. LLC, 3,327 square feet, tenant build-out, $650,504,” the coverage says.
What Now reached out on Tuesday to Louis Joseph, one of the owners of Southern Smokehouse, to ask about plans for the restaurant. Joseph was not immediately available for comment.
Opening in the Yellow Bluff Road location, Southern Smokehouse would join a community of several other restaurants situated north of the New Berlin Road intersection, including fast and fast-casual restaurants like McDonald’s and Zaxby’s Chicken Fingers & Buffalo Wings, as well as Nagasaki Japanese Restaurant.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available!
