Jacksonville’s Southside could soon have another place to stop for fuel, convenience items and Southern-inspired comfort food. Parker’s Kitchen is moving forward with plans for a new gas station and convenience store near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road South.
The City of Jacksonville issued a permit in October, allowing horizontal development work to prepare the property for the proposed project. According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the site preparation carries an estimated cost of $2.2 million.
The planned location will occupy approximately 1.59 acres at the northwest corner of Beach Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road South. The project calls for a 5,204-square-foot convenience store and gas station.
The property consists of two parcels, including the site of a former Checkers drive-thru at 11361 Beach Blvd. and a vacant commercial parcel at 3210 St. Johns Bluff Road South. Parker’s Kitchen acquired the property through DPC-FL LLC in March 2026 for approximately $1.82 million, according to the media publication.
While the latest permit marks progress for the development, it covers horizontal site work rather than construction of the store itself. A construction schedule and opening date have not been announced.
Parker’s Kitchen is a Savannah, Georgia-based convenience store operator known for combining traditional convenience-store offerings with a menu of freshly prepared food. Founded by Greg Parker in 1976, the company has grown across Georgia and South Carolina and is now expanding into Florida.
The food selection is a major part of the brand’s identity. Its breakfast menu includes biscuits and gravy, breakfast bowls, fish and grits, and breakfast sandwiches. Biscuits are baked in-store, with fillings such as sausage, bacon, egg and cheese.
For lunch and dinner, customers can find hand-breaded chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fried fish sandwiches, pork chops and fried chicken. The company also offers sides such as its signature mac and cheese, fries and potato logs.
Other menu items include pepperoni rolls, cheeseburgers and hand-breaded chicken nuggets. Drinks range from freshly brewed Southern sweet tea and specialty lemonade to freshly ground coffee and the chain’s signature Chewy Ice.
The company’s menu and food offerings are available through its official website.
The Jacksonville project is part of a broader Florida expansion. In a September 2026 announcement, Parker’s Kitchen outlined plans to open 12 stores across the state, with six locations expected to be under construction during the first quarter of 2027. The company has also identified multiple potential sites throughout Northeast Florida.
According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, at least 11 locations have surfaced across Duval, Clay, St. Johns and Nassau counties, although individual projects remain at different stages of development.
The new Southside location would add another Parker’s Kitchen to the company’s growing Northeast Florida footprint, bringing its combination of fuel, convenience retail and prepared Southern food to the Beach Boulevard corridor.
For now, the project remains in the site-preparation stage. Further details, including a construction timeline and anticipated opening date, have not been announced.
