Next Door is planned for 2030 Walnut Street in Jacksonville’s Springfield neighborhood, where the founders of The District SPR intend to convert a neighboring house into a restaurant, according to the Jacksonville Daily Record.

Plans call for a 913-square-foot fine-dining restaurant with 24 outdoor seats. Business partner Jorge Gonzalez told the publication that the concept would have a speakeasy atmosphere, with a possible Thursday-through-Saturday schedule.

Guests would be able to enter through The District SPR property, although Next Door would be marketed as a separate restaurant. An existing nearby parking lot would be available to customers. An opening date and menu have not been confirmed.

State restaurant licensing records list Next Door under The Hidden District LLC. The city has also approved a zoning exception allowing liquor, beer, and wine service at the property.

The team’s existing restaurant, The District SPR, opened in 2020 at 2026 Walnut Street. Guests can find a New American menu with Southern and global influences, alongside specialty cocktails.

What Now Jacksonville reached out to the Next Door team, but did not hear back by the time of this publication. This article may be updated as more information becomes available.
