Macy’s on Spring Mountain has new owners! The longtime department store was recently acquired by Las Vegas husband-and-wife real estate investors Huan “Jeff” Mai and Qing Zhong for $14.7 million, according to the Review-Journal‘s Vegas Business.
The two added an adjacent retail building to the ticket price, tacking on $11 million. The building has a bunch of dining options. Both buildings sit in the Shan Tau Square shopping center at 4450 Spring Mountain Road.
Macy’s has been there since 1994. There are about 456 Macy’s store locations operating across the United States, Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and Guam, with only eight of those in Nevada. Five of those department stores actually operate within the city of Las Vegas. But with the change in ownership, there will be no changes at the Spring Mountain store.
Macy’s is a prominent American department store chain known for offering a wide variety of mid-tier to upscale fashion, beauty products, and home goods. As one of the largest retailers in the United States, it functions as a one-stop shop where customers can browse multiple brands in a single location.
At the Macy’s location on Spring Mountain, you’ll find the brand’s home store, which focuses on furniture, cookware, and all of your home needs.
This, of course, is not the first retail purchase for the Las Vegas husband and wife real estate duo. The two own several shopping centers in the Las Vegas Valley and are said to always be looking for opportunities like the Macy’s purchase.
With the Macy’s buy a done deal, Macy’s should be business as usual in the Shan Tau Square shopping center at 4450 Spring Mountain Road.
