Slurpin’ Ramen is coming to Echo Park on Sunset Boulevard, according to a post on Instagram by real estate firm retail LA. An opening date has not been announced.

Slurpin’ Ramen first opened in 2015 in the heart of Koreatown. The concept was created with the goal of “bringing authentic Hakata-style rich, thick and creamy tonkotsu ramen to California.”

“Slurpin’ derives from Japanese culture in showing respect to your ramen chef with a loud “slurp” sound from eating the noodles and broth. Loud slurping may seem different in the US, but in Japan it is considered rude not to slurp!” says their website

In addition to ramen, the eatery offers chashu bowl (rice topped with fatty pork, chicken or tofu); appetizers like takoyaki, gyoza, and bulgogi eggrolls; side dishes like kimchi, salad, and edamame; and desserts.

Slurpin’ has six SoCal outposts and one location in Alpharetta, GA.
