Pitter Patter Play, a Conejo Valley-based community for parents and their kids, is evolving into a storefront this year. Owner Kristina Thomas will open a brick-and-mortar location of Pitter Patter Play at The Oaks in Thousand Oaks this fall. The shop will be located on the second floor near Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle and across from Le Caprice and Fit4Mom.
Thomas launched Pitter Patter Play when she had the idea for a community-based concept during the pandemic as she felt her own isolation with parenthood. That idea led to weekly parent-and-me classes, seasonal pop-ups and birthday party experiences.
“A simple dream to create connection and community has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined,” Thomas said in a recent social media announcement.
At the storefront in The Oaks, Pitter Patter Play will provide a family-oriented community space offering parent-and-me classes, sensory-focused play experiences for children, workshops and birthday party packages. There will also be a curated collection of developmental toys and specialty gifts from local small businesses that will be available for purchase in the shop.
In addition to Pitter Patter Play, other concepts are preparing to open soon at The Oaks. POP MART recently announced a storefront there that is expected to open in the fall, and local small business Newberry Candy should open in late summer.
