Karen Giesbrecht launched Mississippi Juice Company with the simple but admirable goal of providing customers with healthy, convenient, and delicious dining options. She has succeeded in doing just that, making a strong impression in Cleveland, and is now readying the concept’s next chapter-a new location in Indianola, set to open before the year is over.
Owner Giesbrecht was kind enough to speak to What Now Memphis about bringing Mississippi Juice Company’s various nutritious offerings to the Indianola Pecan House building located at 1013 Hwy 82 East. She explains that she’s had expansion on the mind for a while-a reaction, in part, to the community asking for her wares. “I’ve been planning this for a while.” she says, adding, “People keep telling me ‘I wish you were in Greenville’ or ‘I wish you were in Grenada’- they wish that I was everywhere.”
Indianola is optimally located for accessibility. Giesbrecht states: “Indianola is the perfect small town, with the highway and the college, that people need to pass right by. There are several gyms right there in Indianola. We need something in every town that’s got some nutritional value to it.”
Mississippi Juice Company provides access to a universal need. Giesbrecht explains: “Everybody wants to eat clean. It’s in all of us to eat something every day that’s good for our bodies. Everybody is working on something, working on our health in some way.”
The company will, additionally, fill a notable void in the local dining scene. “There’s not a lot of places for people to eat or to get anything healthy.” Giesbrecht says. “Everybody should be able to find something healthy that’s not fried. We already have lots of fried food, lots of soul food-this is something healthy.”
And indeed, Mississippi Juice Company will be providing Indianola with the same great and nourishing options that have made it so well-loved in Cleveland. Giesbrecht states: “We will be somewhere where you can feel good after eating. We have a lot of grab-and-go, a lot of protein for people that just want to add some extra protein into their diets. Our shakes are full of protein. It’s a great place to get your body on that healing path.”
Indianola can look forward to choosing from a customizable menu of acai bowls, smoothies and protein shakes, cold-pressed juices, and wellness shots when Mississippi Juice Company opens its doors later this fall. The build out is currently underway and Giesbrecht anticipates being customer-ready in approximately 6-8 weeks. Be sure to follow the company’s Facebook page for opening updates and details.
