A new restaurant is headed to 811 South Highland St.

According to permits filed with Develop901, Dixie King will soon occupy the former site of Jack Pirtle’s Chicken. Owner Derrick Sanders confirmed this development with What Now Memphis but declined to provide more information.

The space has been vacant for a while, but there are several other Jack Pirtle’s outlets in the Greater Memphis area.

The forthcoming Dixie King eatery does not appear to be affiliated with Dixie Queen, a local fast-casual burger chain. No further details are known at this time, so stay tuned for updates as they come in.
