A Memphis storefront is getting ready to get back into the grocery business. Liberty Supermarket LLC has filed the papers necessary to open in a Vance Street building with a history of helping customers fulfill their grocery needs.
Liberty Supermarket is planning to set up shop at 485 Vance Avenue, in a space that previously housed Liberty Cash Grocers. The business has filed an application for a certificate of occupancy with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, which is listed as “in review” as of November 6.
The certificate of occupancy assures future customers that Liberty Supermarket will be prepared to fulfill any potential shopping needs. It states that the 3,300 square foot establishment will function as a “Grocery store selling food, snacks, drinks, cigarette, household items”. Additionally, patrons over 21 who are craving adult beverages will be pleased to hear that Liberty Supermarket is applying to sell beer in-store.
It is not yet clear when, precisely, Liberty Supermarket will be ready to welcome visitors, however the certificate of occupancy is a positive indicator of forward momentum.
