A popular Mississippi restaurant is inspiring excitement in Jackson seafood fans. Shivers Creek Catfish House is opening its fourth location in the neighborhood and should be ready to greet customers later this year, reports Clarion Ledger.
The restaurant is setting up shop at 422 E. Capitol Street. Known for serving only fresh, never frozen Mississippi seafood, Shivers Creek Catfish House is currently on track to open this fall, though a precise opening date is not yet available.
Shivers Creek leadership is looking forward to bringing the celebrated restaurant to a community hungry for it. Owner Dustin Malley kindly spoke with What Now Memphis about introducing the concept’s superior seafood to Jackson, explaining that the neighborhood was a large part of the draw, but the space itself was the greatest attraction. “The structure is just a beautiful space.” he explains, adding that “the layout is a big part of that. It has that historic feel…we want to do something with that.”
Shivers Creek Catfish House will span 6,800 square feet. Outdoor dining enthusiasts will be particularly delighted by the restaurant; Malley states that it will offer al fresco dining in both the front and the rear. The eatery will also have private dining available.
Work is underway on Shivers Creek’s newest home, which will adhere to the high standards already set by the brand. Malley says that while the menu will not deviate from other locations, the Jackson storefront will be the first to offer Mississippi craft beers.
Jackson foodies will surely embrace the nautical newcomer. Shivers Creek has won multiple awards and strives to provide a memorable dining experience. The website explains: “At Shivers, It is our vision to not only serve you the best Mississippi farm raised catfish and gulf coast seafood available, but also provide you with an exceptional experience with the highest standards of southern hospitality!”
