The Melting Pot, “the original fondue restaurant”, is getting ready to dip back into the Memphis market for the first time since 2014. Franchisees Nancy and Mike Williams are returning the concept to the area, with an upcoming location coming to a Ridgeway Road storefront, reports Memphis Business Journal.
The Melting Pot is setting up shop at 1199 Ridgeway Road, in the space that previously housed Pyro’s Fire Fresh Pizza. The restaurant currently has a commercial alteration permit under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for the 4,814 square foot storefront.
Franchisee Nancy Williams kindly made some time to speak with What Now Memphis about bringing The Melting Pot back to the city, explaining that the location was a major focus for the chain. “That’s where The Melting Pot wanted to go-it was a top priority for them.” she says of the Memphis restaurant, adding: “We felt comfortable with Memphis. We had someone in our family who wanted to be there so all of that just came together for us.”
Nancy and her team are aiming to have The Melting Pot up and customer-ready in early 2027-optimally opening its doors in time to invite Memphians to celebrate some of their most memorable moments in the eatery. Nancy explains: “We’d love to be open before Valentine’s day-that kicks off a big season for The Melting Pot. It’s a celebratory restaurant so Valentine’s through Mother’s day, that is the busy season.”
Founded in Florida in 1975, The Melting Pot focuses on fondue. The restaurant offers a variety of menus, including dessert, vegan, sharable, and ala carte options.
