Hope springs eternal for the damaged cell phones of Memphis. 901 Wireless & Repair, a store dedicated to the rescue of cell phones and the sale of accessories, has filed the papers to turn a Summer Avenue storefront into its home.

The concept currently has a commercial alteration permit under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development for 3440 Summer Avenue. The work detailed in the filing will turn the space into two distinct storefronts. The form describes it as: “installation of an interior drywall partition wall within an existing one-story commercial building. The partition wall runs 73 feet from the front (south) wall to the rear (north) wall, creating a separate tenant space on the left (west) side measuring 1,679 square feet. The space includes one existing front entry door on the south (Summer Ave) side, one existing rear exit door on the north side, and one existing bathroom located on the west wall.”

The building will not be undergoing any structural alterations or changes to the exterior walls.

901 Wireless & Repair will be pretty much exactly what the name promises; the intended use is described as “retail cell phone repair and accessories shop.”

An opening timeline isn’t yet available for 901 Wireless & Repair, however the commercial alteration permit has not been issued yet, suggesting area cell phones may have a bit of a wait ahead of them.
