Flowers have long proven an invaluable form of communication when words have failed. The right arrangement can express everything from love to sympathy to simply “thinking of you” in a succinct and sweet smelling fashion. Memphis will soon be getting a new opportunity to utilize this botanical tool; a store called The After Hours Flowers has filed papers to open in the area.

The Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development has issued The After Hours Flowers a certificate of occupancy for 1595 Bartlett Road. The submitted paperwork shows that the florist shop will span 6,000 square feet.

The certificate of occupancy application provides a little glimpse of what’s in store at The After Hours Flowers, described as “wholesale florist and delivery”. It additionally states that the retail space will be used for “Processing fresh cut flowers preparing floral arrangements and delivering to the customers with business employees and fleet.”

It is not yet clear when, precisely, The After Hours Flowers will open on Bartlett Road, however the business was issued its certificate of occupancy on August 18, a good sign that the company will be opening in the not-too-distant future.
