Don Pan, the restaurant that features authentic Venezuelan cuisine and fresh bakery items, is opening in Pompano Beach.

The restaurant, under Powerline Bread LLC, filed permit applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a Don Pan restaurant at 1000 S. Powerline Road, Suite 3A. No opening date has been announced at this time.

The Don Pan story started in Venezuela, where a family of entrepreneurs opened Don Pan before expanding to Miami. Louis Gorrin opened the first U.S. Don Pan on Flagler Street in Downtown Miami, with Alvaro Gorrin expanding the brand’s presence in the 1990s.

Although deeply rooted in the Venezuelan community, Don Pan prides itself as offering delicacies from several countries — making it a truly global destination. Customers flock for bread, pastries, and hot dishes from Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, and Argentina in addition to its Venezuelan items. The restaurant also offers bowl made with rice, beans, maduros, and meat along with sandwiches, arepas, empanadas, and more.  Customers can opt to dine in or take out their meal, and Don Pan also offers catering that ranges from a single platter of  croquetas to an entire family feast.
