Pimento’s Caribbean Cuisine, a halal restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, is preparing to open a new location in Laval.
The company’s second location was recently announced on social media, saying it will open in the next few months. It’s unclear exactly where in Laval this new location is expected to open, but the owners are finishing up renovating the space. Customers can expect the same authentic Caribbean flavors found at the original restaurant at 1107 Hyman Street, which has garnered a strong following for its generous portions, flavorful dishes, and friendly service.
“We’re expanding… and our second Pimentos location is opening in Laval in the next few months!” According to the company’s announcement on social media. “This is a big step for us — we’ve been working hard behind the scenes, and we can’t wait to share it with you. New space, same bold Caribbean flavor you love. We’re so excited to grow, meet new faces, and bring Pimentos to a new community. Laval, get ready — we’re coming in hot.”
Pimento’s Caribbean Cuisine offers a halal menu featuring classic Caribbean dishes such as jerk chicken, curry goat, and oxtail. Other popular items include BBQ fried chicken, jerk salmon, and fried snapper escovitch, served with sides like rice and peas, plantains, and macaroni salad. The restaurant also offers appetizers like Jamaican beef patties and fish cakes. Inspired by family BBQs and the tradition of sharing food during the pandemic, the owners turned their passion for cooking into the foundation of Pimento’s.
“Family BBQs have always been the highlight of every summer, cooking good food and creating memories with our friends and family are the moments that we strive for!” According to the company’s website. “With all the fun, we dreaded saying goodbye at the end of the night. Once the pandemic hit, we were no longer able to enjoy each other’s company. Instead of our traditional gatherings, we would send food and care packages to our loved ones to let them know that everything will be okay.. After the great feedback from our family, the idea for Pimento’s was born!”
