Pizza Rodi, a Quebec-based restaurant chain known for its family-style dining and casual menu, is preparing to open a new location in Alma at 865 Avenue du Pont Sud.

The company’s fourth location is expected to open at the beginning of Summer 2026, according to Informe Affaires. The new restaurant will move into the former Sportpat premises, which is part of a shared building that will also house the Chasse et Pêche Alma store. The project represents an investment of nearly $1.2 million, primarily focused on renovations.

The Alma location will operate as a BYOB restaurant, following the model used at Pizza Rodi’s Chicoutimi and Jonquière locations. The space will cover approximately 5,000 square feet and seat around 150 customers, making it comparable in size to its Jonquière restaurant. While the chain previously experimented with a drive-thru concept in La Baie in 2021, that model will not be continued in future openings.

Pizza Rodi continues to grow its presence across the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region, with existing locations in Chicoutimi, Jonquière, and La Baie. The brand is known for its broad casual-dining menu, which includes pizzas, poutines, pasta dishes, grilled items, and comfort-food staples. The Alma opening adds to its steady regional expansion.

The menu features a wide selection of pizzas, including La Rodi, Québécoise, and Poulet Tao, along with poutine variations and classic dishes such as fish and chips, chicken filets, and General Tao chicken. The restaurant also offers sandwiches, wraps, and salads, making it a full-service casual dining option.

The project will create around 30 jobs, including both full-time and part-time roles. Construction Tect-Hab of Saguenay will serve as the general contractor, with local subcontractors handling electrical and plumbing work. This will be an excellent landing space for Pizza Rodi as Alma continues to see new retail and dining development along major commercial corridors.
