Goodfellas Pizzeria is finally coming to Nashville. It will occupy 1116 Grundy St. in the Gulch region, marking the New York-style pizzeria’s 11th location.

Co-owners Alex Coats and Eric Boggs launched the brand in Lexington, Kentucky, 18 years ago. Since then, it has expanded to locations across four states: Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee. The new Nashville spot will be only the second Goodfellas to open in Tennessee, following the location in Chattanooga.

“We started this in 2006, so [we have] 18 years of experience making authentic New York-style pizza, and we specialize in doing it by the slice,” Coats said.

The pizza chain has a distinct mafioso concept to its menu, featuring on-brand pizza names like The Bootlegger and The Don. It also features other Italian favorites, including subs, salads and cannolis.

Goodfellas leans into their mafioso theme with the Wiseguy Lounge, a hidden speakeasy found inside its locations. The dimly-lit spots, reminiscent of 1920s speakeasies, are known for their pre-Prohibition style cocktails and extensive bourbon collections.

The spot will offer a lunch menu, but Coats said they specialize in evening and late-night entertainment. Currently, they plan to open the new Nashville location in the first quarter of 2025.

“We’ve been trying to come to Nashville for 10 years,” Coats said. “We are very specific with our location, and we are entertainment-driven so we have to be part of the action and where people are walking around. We felt this was a great opportunity in the Gulch. We feel that we are really going to synergize well with what’s going on right there.”
