Cock of the Walk has permanently closed its doors. After 42 years of service, the longstanding restaurant served its last meal on Wednesday, June 17. The closure comes as the owners retire.
Cock of the Walk Serves Final Meal After More Than Four Decades
A popular local staple, Cock of the Walk ended its 42-year journey with a final meal on June 17. The restaurant announced the closure on Facebook.
“Thank you, Nashville, for your love and support for the last 42 years. As we close this chapter, know that we will always cherish being able to serve you and being a part of your memories,” shared the team behind the restaurant.
The restaurant served Southern comfort food in a traditional diner-style setting. In the post, the team also thanked customers and employees for their support over the years.
The team hinted at a quiet retirement from the restaurant industry in the social media post. “As we retire from this chapter, we hope you are beyond blessed. Cock of the Walk loves Music City and will miss being a part of your community,” stated the team.
About the Restaurant
Cock of the Walk was nestled in the heart of Nashville at 2624 Music Valley Drive near the Grand Ole Opry. For over four decades, the restaurant had been a favorite dinner destination. It featured traditional Southern hospitality and had a loyal customer base.
Several guests of the restaurant shared heartfelt messages on social media, following the closure announcement. One of the customers mentioned cherished memories and wrote, “This restaurant holds so many memories for me. Any event…a birth, a death, a birthday, anything…this is where my family gathered. I have so many pictures of myself from every age in the gigantic rocking chair. My Nana would be so sad.”
Although the restaurant has said permanent goodbye, the Nashville dining community will dearly miss and cherish the lasting impact of Cock of the Walk.
