DICK’S House of Sport, the experiential retail concept from DICK’S Sporting Goods, is headed to 1780 Galleria Blvd. in Franklin. According to a recent post from Nashville HQ on Instagram, the more than 100,000-square-foot destination is expected to open in early 2028, becoming the first DICK’S House of Sport in the greater Nashville area and the second in Tennessee.
Nashville HQ reported that the new location will replace the former JCPenney store. Once complete, the redevelopment will feature interactive amenities including TrackMan golf simulators, HitTrax multi-sport cages, a climbing wall, expanded sporting goods departments and spaces designed to host community events and sports clinics.
According to DICK’S Sporting Goods’ website, House of Sport was created to offer a more immersive shopping experience by combining retail with hands-on activities. In addition to carrying athletic apparel, footwear, sporting equipment and outdoor gear, the stores give customers opportunities to test products before purchasing while participating in events designed to engage local athletes and sports enthusiasts.
The company says House of Sport locations are intended to serve as community hubs, hosting activities such as sports clinics, product demonstrations and other events throughout the year. The DICK”S House of Sport website goes on to say that the concept builds on the traditional DICK’S Sporting Goods store by placing a greater emphasis on interactive experiences alongside its assortment of national and private-label brands.
According to the company’s website, DICK’S Sporting Goods has grown into one of the nation’s largest sporting goods retailers, operating hundreds of stores across the United States. In addition to its flagship stores, the company also operates concepts including House of Sport, Golf Galaxy and Public Lands.
