On Inc. is preparing to open its first Nashville store at 4021 Hillsboro Pike, bringing the Swiss sportswear brand to Green Hills.
A Metro permit reviewed by the Nashville Business Journal shows the retailer is set to occupy the former Whole Foods Whole Body space. The publication also reports that global architecture and design firm Gensler is leading the project. An opening date has not been announced, and the company could not immediately be reached for comment.
According to On Inc.’s website, the company was founded in Zurich in 2010 by Olivier Bernhard, David Allemann, and Caspar Coppetti, with a focus on developing high-performance running shoes. Since then, the brand has expanded its product lineup to include footwear for running, training, tennis, travel, and everyday wear, as well as apparel and accessories for men, women, and children.
The company’s growth has accelerated in recent years. According to On’s 2025 Annual Report, annual revenue surpassed $3 billion in 2025 as the brand continued expanding its global retail presence.
The company operates stores across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, including locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Portland, Austin, Chicago, Houston, Boston, and Washington, D.C. The Nashville Business Journal reports the Green Hills location would mark the company’s first retail expansion into the Southeastern United States.
The upcoming store joins a growing list of high-end retailers investing in Nashville. The publication notes that brands including Hermès, Zimmermann, and Brunello Cucinelli have also announced Green Hills locations as the area’s retail landscape continues to grow.
