The Curious Kitchen will relocate from its current home at 327 E. State St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130, to 2561 E. Compton Rd. next spring, according to BoroPulse. Co-owner Helena Spensatelli Pittard confirmed to WhatNow Nashville that the business is targeting spring 2027, although an exact reopening date has not yet been established as renovations continue.

Helena explained that the move is tied to a change in ownership of the property currently housing the business. “We are selling the building where we’re at now,” she told WhatNow Nashville. The family has also acquired approximately 5.5 acres adjacent to property owned by Helena and her husband, bringing the combined family property to roughly nine acres.

An existing building on the newly acquired property is being renovated to become the next home of The Curious Kitchen. Helena said the family’s new property will also accommodate her daughter and business partner, Rachel Spensatelli, along with Rachel’s husband and their three children. The family is building a home on the property as part of the larger move.

The new setting is expected to give The Curious Kitchen room to broaden the experiences it offers beyond its existing recreational cooking classes and events. According to BoroPulse, Rachel Spensatelli envisions gardens with fresh herbs and vegetables growing close to the kitchen, along with farm-to-table events, hands-on cooking classes, kids’ camps, birthday parties and additional gathering space. The business also hopes to eventually add farm animals.

The Curious Kitchen currently operates as a recreational cooking school offering hands-on classes for adults, children and families, as well as private events, team-building experiences, cocktail classes, date-night experiences and kids’ cooking camps, according to its website.

The mother-daughter team has operated the concept together since Rachel helped develop the idea in 2014. The Curious Kitchen’s website identifies Helena and Rachel as the business’s mother-daughter founders and co-owners, with the pair sharing a long-standing family connection to cooking.

For now, The Curious Kitchen remains at its downtown location while work continues on the future property. The business has also noted on its website that gift certificates will be honored, with expirations extended because of the move and anticipated spring 2027 reopening.
