A New York City French bistro is bringing its classic fare to another neighborhood this fall.

Jean Claude, owned by Kamel Moumeni, is set to debut at 1481 York Ave. on the Upper East Side, marking the restaurant’s second location alongside its flagship in Midtown East.

Moumeni told Whatnow New York City he is excited to return to the Upper East Side, where he once operated a restaurant at 71st Street and 2nd Avenue and has long been part of the community.

The interior will be completely renovated ahead of the opening.

“I took everything down and changed everything. It’ll be very, very nice and brand new, but a little bit different [than the original location],” he said.

The menu will remain the same, featuring the restaurant’s French brasserie-inspired fare.

The brunch and lunch menu includes eggs Benedict, Gruyère omelets, French toast, pancakes and sandwiches such as the croque monsieur, a grilled ham-and-cheese sandwich, the fried egg-topped croque madame and the Niçoise-inspired pan bagnat.

For dinner, diners can indulge in roasted poulet rôti, steak frites served with pommes frites, and steak au poivre, a peppercorn-crusted steak finished with a rich cream sauce. Seafood offerings include moules marinières, or mussels steamed in a white wine broth, along with seared scallops, branzino and salmon served with spinach.

Moumeni plans to open after Labor Day.

“We are aiming to open right when the kids go back to school since there are a lot of schools in the neighborhood,” he said.
