A community-focused nail salon centered on a health-conscious experience is expanding its New York City presence.
Sundays, owned by Amy Ling Lin, will open its newest location at 211 W. 84th St., adding to its footprint alongside locations in SoHo, East Village, Hudson Yards, Upper East Side, NoMad and Long Island City.
“We’re excited to have a location on Broadway. It’ll be one of our most visible locations. We really like the community aspect of the Upper West Side,” Lin told Whatnow New York City.
The Upper West Side location will feature the Sundays’ aesthetic.
“The design will continue in a Scandinavian-Japanese style, a very minimalist design. We want to focus on the guests, making the guests the center of the design,” Lin said.
The tight-knit approach will also carry over to the new location.
“It feels like a home. We’ve had great success [at other locations], and we will build it again on the Upper West Side. We have very strong clientele, and our managers know almost all our clients by name. We really enjoy that,” she said.
Sundays offers manicures and pedicures with add-ons including red light therapy, plant-based eco-paraffin treatments, rose extract anti-aging treatments, deep hydration, meditation and massages.
The salon was founded on the principles of nontoxic, salon-quality products. After studying at Columbia University, Lin began working with a chemist to research nail care products, eventually developing Sundays’ signature nontoxic formula.
“We make sure we cater to everyone’s needs. It’s safe for children. It’s safe for pregnant women. Our treatment is overall gentle. We do gentle cuticle care. It’s all about making your own nails look beautiful and stronger,” she said.
Lin said she’s excited to expand to another corridor in the city while hosting Sundays’ wellness events and offering the space for private events and fundraisers.
