Better Buzz Coffee Roasters may be expanding its Orange County footprint. According to a recently filed plan review with the Orange County Health Care Agency, the company may be pursuing a new location at 385 E. 17th St. in Costa Mesa.
Although Better Buzz Coffee Roasters has not publicly announced the location or a projected opening date, the active plan review indicates plans are moving forward to redevelop the site currently occupied by a Jack in the Box restaurant.
The potential Costa Mesa location would add to the company’s growing presence in Orange County, where it already operates several cafés. Better Buzz Coffee Roasters continues to grow throughout the Southwest. On its website, the company lists several locations slated to open in the coming months, including new cafés in Stanton, Riverside, and Henderson, Nevada. If completed, the Costa Mesa project would add another Southern California outpost to the rapidly expanding coffee chain’s portfolio.
Founded in San Diego in 2002, Better Buzz Coffee Roasters has grown from a single coffee cart into a regional chain known for its specialty coffee drinks, house-roasted beans, and modern café design. The company now operates dozens of locations throughout Southern California and Arizona.
The brand has built a loyal following around signature beverages such as the Best Drink Ever, a creamy espresso-based favorite, alongside cold brews, matcha drinks, teas, breakfast items, and fresh pastries. Better Buzz also roasts its own coffee and emphasizes ethically sourced beans across its cafés.
