Alps Village, the beloved family-owned restaurant located at 77734 Country Club Drive in Palm Desert, is possibly taking on a major structural transformation. Public notices reveal the business is seeking approval to expand into two neighboring two suites.
The City of Palm Desert’s Planning Commission is reviewing a possible project for the restaurant to renovate and take over Suites F2 and F3 of the building they all share. Kitchen and dining areas would be improved upon and the eatery would be a total of 3,120 square feet.
Last year, Alps Village was recognized by USA TODAY as one of the top 47 restaurants in the United States, Desert Sun notes. Chefs Milka Damjanovic, from Yugoslavia, and daughter Blanka Sanin, run the establishment, which offers dinner service Monday through Saturday.
The eatery offers a cozy European dining experience, bringing together flavors from Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, and Germany. The menu features classic dishes such as Schnitzels, Cevapcici, Goulash, and house-made sauerkraut. Guests can also enjoy European beers, wines, and signature cocktails.
