Chef Tyson Cole, the visionary behind the acclaimed Uchi restaurant, is set to bring the non-traditional Japanese cuisine spot to Newport Beach. This new location, the eighth for Uchi, will be situated at 2510 West Coast Highway, according to LA Mag.
The upcoming Newport Beach location, slated to open in 2026, will be its first in Orange County. It will be housed in a mixed-use building being constructed just steps from Newport Bay and Lido Isle, amongst new residential units.
Guests can expect a rotating selection of seasonal omakase, hand-crafted sushi, and specialty dishes designed to offer an unforgettable dining experience. The restaurant will seat 175 guests, including bar seating, offering an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere.
Since its inception in Austin, Texas, in 2003, Uchi has grown into a renowned chain known for its elevated sushi, sashimi, makimono, yakimono, tempura, and a seasonal omakase experience. Its innovative approach to Japanese dining has earned it a loyal following, with locations now in cities like Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, and West Hollywood.
