Philadelphia area hospitality royalty Philip and Kate Ferro are back on the grind with a brand new concept. The power duo, known for the Chadds Ford Tavern and several other beloved restaurants, will be opening a honky-tonk called Boondocks Bar and Grill in Glenn Mills, reports the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The neighborhood will be welcoming the dining and entertainment venue in the space at 1110 Baltimore Pike that previously housed a Hooters. Ferro states that if all goes according to plan, Boondocks will begin greeting guests in fall of 2025.
The 8-9,000 square foot space will have ample room for both dining and line-dancing. Interactive entertainment is a large part of the Ferro’s plan for Boondocks; to that end, they are partnered with local musician Brian McConnell, who will be ushering in talent for live performances.
The building-which is owned by fellow partner in the endeavor, Chet Patel- will be able to accommodate around 200 visitors across both indoor and outdoor spaces. Boondocks will feature a newly constructed outdoor patio and bar.
The Ferros, Patel, and McConnell are planning to bring a true Nashville experience to the Delaware Valley. The interior will emulate the style and decor of honkey-tonks, complete with neon lighting, a stage, and a dance floor. Guests who have worked up an appetite from dancing the night away can look forward to sating their hunger with Southern classics like ribs, catfish, and barbecue.
