A local favorite brewery is permanently closing its Fishtown location after five years of service. Source Urban Brewery will serve its last pint this weekend. The restaurant team shared the closure announcement on social media.
Source Urban Brewery to Close Fishtown Location
The classic brewery located at 1101 Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia is preparing to close permanently. Source Urban Brewery, a farm-to-glass concept is known for serving a variety of craft beers and pub fare.
According to the Breweries in PA, Source Urban’s Fishtown location was opened on September 17, 2021. The location features a 32-tap system, a 7-barrel brewhouse, outdoor beer garden seating, and a full-service kitchen.
The brewery team shared the heartbreaking news of its closure with a social media post. The team wrote, “After 5 incredible years, we have some bittersweet news to share: Source Urban Brewery in Fishtown will be closing its doors.”
The brewery said it decided not to renew its lease for the Fishtown location.

Farewell Message for the Community
The team encouraged customers to visit before the location closes. “Come see us one last time this weekend, grab a beer, raise a glass, and of course, get our award-winning Smash Burger one last time,” said the team. The brewery plans to host its final weekend on August 15 and 16, 2026.
Reflecting on its journey, the team behind the brewery added an appreciation note for its five years of operation and the relationships they have built. “Thank you for welcoming us, supporting us, celebrating with us, and making Source Urban such a special part of the neighborhood.”
Several customers shared their sadness and memories on social media following the closure announcement. One customers wrote, “Oh no, you were one of our favorite spots in that part of the city. At least we had plans to visit on Sat anyway, but still sad.”
With the closure of Source Urban Brewery’s Fishtown location, the community is losing a nightlife gem from its dining scene.
