A family-owned New American restaurant plans to debut its second location this fall.

Iron Oven, owned by Alex Nalbandian, will open at 58 S. York Rd., expanding from its flagship Southampton location, which opened eight years ago when Nalbandian was 26.

Nalbandian told Whatnow Philadelphia the expansion had always been part of the plan, and the team had “been trying for years” to find the ideal location.

The new Hatboro location will span 16,000 square feet, making it 80% larger than the current location.

“We’re going to use every single square inch of it. This space has more room; it has more event space, so now we can do more events and catering, where my restaurant now there’s just no room for it,” he said.

The interior will maintain Iron Oven’s signature feel while adding decorative elements to bring the space to life. The team is working with a metalworker to create a “massive” American flag, eight feet wide, which will hang on the wall, while a woodworker will craft the Hatboro “hat.”

Both the food and cocktail menus will remain the same, while each location will feature its own specials. Iron Oven is known for its flatbreads and pizzas, wings, handhelds, burgers, wraps and entrees, including center-cut filet mignon, baby back ribs and jumbo crab legs.

Nalbandian looks forward to expanding the concept with years of experience behind him.

“Seeing how I am now and how it was with the first one, I can see a massive difference, and knowing what I know now is making things way easier. I feel way more prepared, and we’re going to hit the ground running,” he said.

The team will settle on the building in mid-September and begin construction shortly after, with a target opening in late October or early November.
