Philly dining royalty is about to expand its reach. Five Star Restaurant Group, the hospitality group helmed by local savantes Philip and Kate Ferro, is planning to begin franchising its concepts, report the Philadelphia Business Journal.

This next stage of Five Star’s evolution is still in the very early phases. The Ferros have not zeroed in on any specific locations, territories, or franchisees. However, they do have a very basic tenet established; they are pursuing older properties that can be transformed to fit the ideal of a “tavern”.

Five Star built its general model with the Ferros’ four initial concepts, located in Chadds Ford, Augustine, Paoli, and Coatesville. Philip Ferros explains that the hospitality group has worked to turn the tavern concepts into a basic and reproducible creation, saying: ““For the franchisee, it’s easy to replicate now since we’ve done it four times, and we have basically everything in place in terms of how we manage them and operate them.”
