New owners have taken over a West Berlin sports bar.

Victory Bar & Grill, located at 795 S. Route 73, is now under family ownership, with Amar Gunda and his wife, Sunitha, at the helm.

The duo, who also own Wine Cave and Haldi Fine Italian Cuisine in Mount Laurel and are active in the real estate sector, told What Now Philadelphia they aim to expand and diversify their hospitality portfolio.

“It’s good real estate. We are updating our portfolio each and everywhere, wherever possible,” Gunda said.

He said they do not plan to change the name or overall vibe, but will refresh the menu and update the space.

“We are going to improve a lot of the food quality, service and ambiance. We are laying out a 30, 60 and 90 day plan,” he said.

The plan includes upgrading outdated TVs to newer, larger models, as well as adding fire pits and picnic tables to the backyard area. Gunda also said live music will be introduced soon, just in time for summer.

The new bar menu is set to launch June 1 with support from General Manager Justin Williams.

“Our general manager, who onboarded with us, has very good experience. He worked at Yard House for 13 years. We explained our vision, and he is implementing it as per our vision,” Gunda said.

The Gundas have retained all former Victory staff and plan to hire additional local employees.

They are eager to be a part of the West Berlin community.

“We’re looking forward to helping more and being involved with other local businesses. We are always looking to give back. We are eagerly waiting to see the new opportunities,” he said.
