Black Rock Coffee Bar, a rapidly growing boutique coffee chain founded in 2008 in Portland, is getting ready to start working on a new location in Goodyear at GSQ.

Since its inception, the company has expanded to over 150 locations across seven states, including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Washington. Now, the company is getting ready to open a new location next year, according to a press release. Today, RED Development and Globe Corp. announced the next wave of tenants coming to GSQ, the more than 150-acre mixed-use development set to become Goodyear’s cultural hub, including the city’s first Trader Joe’s and a dynamic collection of sought-after dining concepts.

Additional new tenants coming to GSQ include Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, which is also slated to open in 2026. Black Rock Coffee Bar will occupy a 1,460-square-foot drive-thru coffee shop adjacent to Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and east of BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. Known for its signature drinks and a strong focus on community, Black Rock delivers energy, flavor, and connection with every cup.

GSQ’s tenant mix continues to evolve with a vibrant blend of culinary destinations, lifestyle offerings, and entertainment experiences. Concepts already open include Bacchus Wine & Debauchery, BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Copper & Sage, F45, Harkins Theatres, Miyu Nails & Spa, Over Easy, Spitz Mediterranean Street Food, The Stillery, Shake Shack and The Yard Milkshake Bar, with High Tide Seafood Bar & Grill coming soon.

These openings mark a significant milestone in the next phase of GSQ, which is set to become the defining lifestyle destination in the West Valley. Designed to complement the recently completed Goodyear Civic Square—home to a new city hall, two-story library, two-acre park, and office space—GSQ will bring together first-of-its-kind entertainment concepts, high-end and fast-casual restaurants with sprawling patios, specialty retailers, multi-family residential, hotel accommodations, and office space across more than 150 acres.

“Goodyear couldn’t be more thrilled that Trader Joe’s has chosen to come to our great city,” Mayor Joe Pizzillo said in a press release. “This really is a dream come true for so many of our residents who’ve been asking for this unique grocer for many, many years. It’ll be located in the heart of our growing downtown and will be the perfect addition. This announcement of Trader Joe’s is a testament to where we are going as a city and that the most sought-after businesses are choosing to locate in Goodyear.”

When this new Goodyear location of Black Rock Coffee Bar opens next year, customers can expect a diverse menu featuring premium roasted coffees, teas, smoothies, and their signature Fuel energy drinks. Beverage options include iced and hot coffees, Nitro Cold Brew, chai, matcha, and espressos. Non-coffee alternatives like smoothies, Italian sodas, and chai tea are also available, along with a selection of pastries and light snacks. Customers can join the Black Rock Rewards program to earn points and access special offers through the mobile app.
