The former Jay’s Cocktail Lounge space will soon be home to a new concept.
La Chona is the name of a new sports bar under construction at 3208 W Indian School Road. The bar is being teased on social media, and will be a club-type setting serving drinks. The owner, Raquel Diaz, told What Now Phoenix she is hoping to open the concept in September.
Diaz said the location will not serve food, just beer and cocktails. From pictures on social media, guests can expect beers like Corona and Modelo. A cocktail menu will be released at a later date.
The bar is coming to the north side of W Indian School Road, close to the Grand Avenue intersection. McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme locations are right across the street. The area is a 15 minute drive northwest of downtown Phoenix.
