After a successful store in Tempe, franchisees Chatiya Jones-Dean and Jamaal Dean signed a lease for a second Mr. Fries Man at 83rd Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway, What Now Phoenix confirmed in a message.
Along with their menu of french fries topped with various proteins and sauces, they focused on creating a family vibe and partnerships with local high schools, Jones-Dean told abc15 Arizona last June.
The new location will open at 83rd Avenue and Lake Pleasant Parkway, sitting inside a former Blimpie and next to a Goodwill Thrift Store and Fletcher’s Sports Grill. A new opening date has not been set. Co-owners Chatiya Jones-Dean and Jamaal Dean did not return a request for further comment by What Now Phoenix’s at the time of publication.
Mr. Fries Man premiered in 2016 when a Los Angeles area urban chef experimented in their home kitchen, eventually moving into a successful restaurant housed in Gardena, California by 2017. According to their website, it was an aggressive social media campaign and commitment to accessibility that boosted their popularity and success.
