A Southwestern and Mexican restaurant in Scottsdale has permanently closed after three decades in business. Old Town Tortilla Factory served its last dinner on August 1 and marked the end of its thirty-year journey in the neighborhood. The restaurant team shared the official closure announcement on social media.

Scottsdale’s Old Town Tortilla Factory Shuts Down

The restaurant was known for its handmade tortillas, margaritas, and Southwestern and Mexican-inspired menu. The space featured a rich historical and romantic setting with an expansive, string-lit outdoor garden patio. The restaurant was located in Scottsdale’s Old Town Arts District inside a 1930s adobe home.

Founded in 1996, Old Town Tortilla Factory was owned and operated by Chad Flaum. The menu featured Southwestern and Mexican dishes, along with soups, salads, and other offerings.

On August 1, the restaurant team shared the closure announcement on its official website and social media. The restaurant team wrote, “Old Town Tortilla Factory has decided to close after three decades of serving Scottsdale! It is with much gratitude that we say goodbye to our restaurant.”

The restaurant had been a signature dining destination for the community members to celebrate special occasions, host family dinners, and just have a casual dinner date.

Community Responses on Social Media

Following the closure announcement, several customers of the restaurant expressed their disappointment on social media. One customer wrote, “So incredibly sad. So many milestone family events held here! We will miss you so much!”

Another customer reflected on the restaurant’s history, writing, “An icon! Cheers to all the great times you brought people together around the table, to the next chapter!”

The restaurant team did not share any official reason for its closure. However, the team added, “It is the end of an era, and stay tuned for what is next.”

The team thanked the community for its support and stated that it was an honor to serve them. The sudden closure of the Old Town Tortilla Factory has left the community in shock.
